Team Northstar is composed of a group of talented professionals, many of whom have ties to colleges and universities in the Boston area.
This year, Northstar staff recognized an opportunity to establish a Co-Op position here at Northstar. Our recruitment committee partnered with The Commercial Real Estate Success Training (CREST) Program to create a summer internship position. CREST is a comprehensive initiative to support commercial real estate and related companies in their commitment to attracting underrepresented students of color and women to the industry. We’re excited to have both of these young professionals joining us!
Intern Pragnya Kousik
Pragnya Kousik joins Northstar from Northeastern University, where she studies Architecture. She is 19 years old and will be starting her junior year this Fall semester. Pragnya hopes to gain some experience working in both architecture and project management to help guide her long-term goals. During her time at Northstar, she’s hoping to gain a better understanding of the OPM role and a new perspective on architectural projects, as her experience thus far is design-related. She’s already been able to see real-world applications of what she’s learned in some of her classes and she hopes to continue making these connections. Pragnya has trained in Bharatanatyam, a form of Indian classical dance for about 12 years and can also read in four different language scripts!
Intern Brooke Deane
Brooke Deane was matched with Northstar through the CREST Internship Program. This coming fall, she’ll be a Senior at the Boston College Carroll School of Management where she studies Management with a concentration in Finance and Management & Leadership. Brooke hopes to work in Commercial Real Estate after graduation. She’s excited to continue exploring different sectors and find the one that best fits her and her skill set. She wants to gain exposure to what it really means to be a project manager. At the end of her internship, Brooke hopes to understand the complexities of the job and get a grasp on the different skills you need to form successful relationships with not only your client but also the various teams that collaborate on a project. Brooke has a twin brother, but they were born on different days (over midnight)!
