"Northstar was honored to attend the Commercial Real Estate Success Training (CREST) Internship 2024 Closing Ceremony, where we proudly hosted two interns from the program — Camila Cortés and Tanuja Naryal, while several members of our team served as mentors for CREST interns. The CREST program is designed to introduce people of color and women, who are typically underrepresented, to the commercial real estate industry. During their time with us, Camila and Tanuja gained valuable hands-on experience while actively participating in the CREST 2024 Education Program. The group took part in presentations from industry experts, engaging personal and professional development activities, and meaningful involvement with industry associations. The closing ceremony was a celebration featuring speeches from both interns and employers. It was a great opportunity to connect with other interns and share in the accomplishments of everyone involved. "In the words of Dr. Seuss, “Oh, the places you will go,” Annika! No surprise this intern is going places, because she showed us this summer she is always on the move, making impact and multi-tasking! Annika Sundsted came to Pembroke this summer as an intern selected for the prestigious CREST Program (Commercial Real Estate Success Training ) in which minority and female college students are given the opportunity to dive deeper into the commercial real estate industry. Annika already has been tapping into her interest in real estate through her studies at Babson College where she is studying Finance and Real Estate. Annika met weekly with her CREST colleagues at industry and networking events, and when she was with us, she split her time working with our Boston-based marketing, asset management and development teams. This required time onsite at Commonwealth Pier, a very special Pembroke project where our team is thoughtfully revitalizing a landmark, waterfront property in the Seaport. The building has a history that dates back to over a century, and the site is intertwined with Boston's roots as a global maritime port and center of trade and commerce. Annika says her time working on Commonwealth Pier has sparked a new interest in architecture. Maybe she can find some architecture courses when she returns to Babson for her senior year?"
